Nice Weather? In March?

I always have such huge plans in March . . . and then the rains come anyway.  Actually, this year, snow has come — not enough to stick for long in the lowlands, but enough to be a nuisance.  This is the first weekend all month it hasn’t snowed.

Ideally, I would have been very productive today, taking advantage of the weather, but I was enjoying the sunshine too much.  I did turn the compost and take care of the weeding, but mostly I played in the yard with my daughters.  And I suppose that is a productivity of another sort.

I also took pictures, which I haven’t done in a while.  I’ll probably post some of them next week — when we return to our regularly scheduled nastiness.

We’ve had gorgeous weather here, which is not normal. I also loved playing outside with my kids when they were small. (My youngest is graduating from college in the fall!) I was never able to turn them into gardeners, though. How about your girls?

It’s a little early to tell for my bio-daughter. Since she’s just six, her interest comes and goes. I don’t think my foster-daughter has gardened before, but she seems excited about getting her own plot. Regardless, household chores include weeding and taking care of your individual garden. Even if every kid that goes through this house doesn’t end up loving gardening, they will at least gain a valuable life skill.

I meant he’s graduating in May.

Giving them their own garden plot is a good idea, I wish I had done that.
