A miracle happened yesterday. My little town on the coast actually got into the hundreds. The day before was the first time we had reached ninety all summer. Thankfully the heat wave is over and it is back to the mid 70s today, just like normal. I am also thankful that I had forewarning and had super-soaked my garden. Instead of just putting the sprinklers on for half-an-hour, like normal, I gave them a full hour in each location, even though that extended the watering time to two days instead of the normal one. Heat stresses plants out, and giving them a decent soak helps them recover faster.
