It has been a while since I have posted on Bloomsday, but I finally remembered to not only take the pictures, but also to actually post on the 15th. Here are my blooms: the ones that I want in my garden, and the ones that are not quite so welcome.
First, the blooms that are wanted:
My climbing roses are starting to really take off and should probably be tied up again.
Although their time is fast approaching, the calla lilies still look good.
My knapweed is in full glory again after being razed to the ground last month.
A lone blossom pokes out of my strawberry plants.
This fuchsia gets more glorious every year.
This allium is just starting to go on display.
Now for the blooms that are not so welcome:
This bindweed is technically in my neighbor’s yard, but we all know that won’t last for long.
These sprawling blackberries began in the neighbor’s yard, but are now happily spilling over into mine. I know they should be whacked down as soon as possible, but I am still tempted to wait until the berries have finished ripening.
And finally we have the grass, which really should be mowed down at some point.
